Is it true that the 2CV will be manufactured again or there will be a new 2CV in the year 2000?
No. Citroen stopped making the 2CV in 1990. Due to all the safety, noise and emissions legislations that have come into force since then, the 2CV would have to be radically altered in order to be put back into production and would in no way share the original 2CV design concept.

Do you know any companies that could send me some new 2CV parts?
There are several companies that send parts by mail order. Please go to the links page for contact details.

Your advice was helpful, do you buy and sell Citroens for a living?
No, but when I started the website I included my experience of what to expect when purchasing or owning a 2CV or DS - and without using Quentin Willson's catchphrase, "...just walk away"!

What happened to the free message board where we could ask other owners a technical question?
Unfortunately it was closed down by the provider in 2002.

Why "2CV & DS"?
I named the website after my two favourite Citroens. I like the design philosophy behind them and (unlike modern cars designed and built by computers one after another) the 2CV and DS were painstakingly developed and tested to a specific brief - two great achievements in vehicle design. However, I also wanted to include information about other Citroens in the website because there were many other technological innovations pioneered by Citroen which should not be overlooked. There are also links to websites with more detail on other Citroens, such as the Visa and BX. The site was never intended to represent Citroen's entire heritage, it was based around the two cars I particularly liked.

Why did you buy a 2CV?
My dad bought a few Citroens when I was young and I always recognised that their cars were different from an early age. When visiting the Citroen dealership I would always pick up some brochures to read. When I first needed a car for work I knew straight away it would be a 2CV because I had always wanted one ever since my dad sold the family 2CV when I was a little boy. I already knew a fair amount about the 2CV due to my interest in the car and its fascinating history. Looking for one that was in reasonable condition as well as within my price range was not easy. One day a telephone call to Darryl Stokes, a 2CV specialist, proved worthwhile as he had just taken in a 2CV that was for sale at a price I could afford. It had been looked after and even had the stone chips painted in by the previous owner so it was fairly solid, just a little rusty around the edges and the bonnet had started to go dull. I bought it and after some minor cosmetic improvements and a good clean and polish, the car started to look a little better. I used the car as daily transport for many years and after several years of ownership, 100,000 miles was reached. I battled against rust, sanding down and painting a few small areas over the years, but I reached the conclusion that all 2CVs will go rusty no matter what!

Are visitors to the website most interested in the 2CV or DS?
Undoubtedly the 2CV is the more popular.
